Day 105 - Cookie Monster

I love cookies preferably chewy chips ahoy but I'm not picky if someone's giving it to me. Mrs. Fields and Famous Amos are definitely up there on my list. Yay to Amanda for bringing me freshly baked cookies from Singapore yesterday :)
It definitely helped me get through our 9-5pm class. Augh.

Day 104 - Copycat

I tried to copy Snag Stand's salad.
My version is rocket salad with sundried tomatoes, shaved parmesan, olive oil, chicken breast, basil and garlic dressing.
Oooh, and my awesome flatmate gave me two pieces of steamed dumplings.

Day 103 - My favorite kind of lunch

I'm supposed to be on Starvation Mode as Geroa surf weekend looms nearer. Dieting certainly doesn't work with me and I don't have my "three times a week" futsal games with my FLF club anymore. So, I've decided to eat a light breakfast, heavy lunch, small snack and mini dinner. Because when I mean heavy, I mean heavy. I'm not talking a full course meal but definitely worth mentioning :)

SNAG STAND in Westfield Sydney is my favorite. I don't know what it is about these "haute dogs" but darn it, I love them.

*Rocket Mix Salad with sun dried tomatoes and shaved parmesan
*Sea salt fries with truffle aioli
*Pork and Fennel Sausage

And on that note, my blog is updated :) No more post backlogs :)

Day 102 - I miss Hailey

Nothing makes me happier than seeing and hearing Hailey every night to say "good night" and "I love you". I miss her more and more every day but I know I'll see her soon. In the meantime, I owe Steve Jobs a hug for letting me stay connected with facetime :)

Day 101 - Moody Monday

I just found this funny. What a long time to be "erected". Bah.

Day 100 - Hunter Valley

What an awesome coincidence that I went on a trip on the 100th day of my blog posting! *Applause*

Wine, Chocolate & Cheese in the country with my girls, does it get any better than this? I thought I wasn't going to make it with my tummy ache but thank God it felt better in the morning. It truly was a great trip because I was with my "sisters" and we just laughed and had fun the whole trip despite all of us feeling under the weather.

Hope we can have another foursome soon!

Day 99 - Killer Tummy Ache

Got home at 3am last night then went to work for a full day shift. I had to go home an hour and a half earlier because of the worst kind of stomach pain. I was so upset because I had a birthday party to go to and I had an early train ride at 4am the next day to go to Hunter Valley. I was in so much pain that I just rested from 5pm till 2:30am to prepare for my trip.

On another note, I saw this beautiful art piece outside Town Hall where they put a net above the pedestrian walk with a beautiful light display.

Day 98 - Flirty Friday Night

I had an awesome spontaneous Friday night where I met awesome new friends, had a lot of drinks, danced like Manila days and had a great meal.

My cousin Trish visited from Melbourne. MISSED HER. So fun to catch up and I cannot wait for January when I head on over there for the same kind of fun but longer.

So many cute guys in Ivy that night :)

Day 97 - Random Thursday view

Just my view from the train.. :)
Beautiful Sydney :)

Day 96 - Pesto Pasta

I think I'm getting better at making Chicken Pesto with Capsicums :)

Day 95 - Beers after Futsal

I've never been the type to go to the gym or run by myself. I prefer competitive sports or dancing. I definitely miss my futsal FLF club in Manila. After playing three times a week for 4 hours a night, it was such a change to only play 1 game every Monday nights here. BUT, good company and exercise is always welcome :)

I love my team here just as much as I miss my old team :) Beer night in a nearby pub after the game was awesome. We played pool, made fun of each other and started planning for our next night :) Before we knew it, it was past midnight and no more trains back to the city. Thank God for teammates with cars :)

Day 94 - Who gives free drinks?

Its weird, here in Sydney, if girls go out at night, they have to pay for their drinks. Am I being spoiled or are we Filipino girls just lucky that guys pay for our drinks in Manila? Well, if you compare the cost of living in Sydney and Manila, its suffice to say that most guys in Manila would go broke if they paid for the drinks here.

Anyway, though its nice to get a free drink from an admiring gentleman in a bar, it seems that nowadays, they don't just give drinks...they give bottles. But not just any bottle. Check this out. I can honestly say this is the first time I saw someone give this to a girl. Weird. We weren't sure whether to be insulted or amused. We thought maybe he was giving out samples but no. Don't worry, we were fully moisturized and definitely did not need this. Hahaha!

Day 92 - Katy Perry's "Friday Night"

This reminded me of my Manila Friday nights with my k-sisters. Got home at 3am and woke up for my 9-5pm Saturday class. It was a great night and the first of many I hope :)
But next time, I'll make sure that I don't have Saturday class when I go out on a Friday night like that again :)

Cheers to the freakin' weekend :)

Day 91 - Chocolates and Fruits

Had a late shift at work last Thursday. So I met Cheesy Cara for lunch and a stroll :) She introduced me to the sinful Sparkles cupcakes and chocolate covered fruits in David Jones Department Store (like Rustans). The best part was she treated me so what's better than free dessert? PRICELESS.

I love bananas. I love chocolate. TOGETHER is pure heaven.

Day 90 - 40 year old Virgin

After work yesterday, I dragged myself to see Mo and Ana to go to Bondi Junction to see the premiere of Steve Carrell's new movie. I wasn't expecting anything since I was just going with them and wasn't too interested to get my photo of him. Yes I'm a fan but not crazy enough to wait for him. But when I met him and got a picture with him, he was quite a nice guy :) I felt kind of bad since my friends were standing up the whole time waiting for Steve. I was sitting by the couch and decided to go walk by the escalators right when he walked by. It was pure luck and it resulted in getting this awesome shot :)

Day 89 - Last Day with My Parents

Yesterday was my last full day with my parents. I felt sad but I knew that it was expensive to visit me for a few days but they still took the time to see me. I couldn't complain and I just wanted our last day to be fun! I treated them to a buffet lunch on a yacht with wine and a beautiful view of the harbour. It was great albeit a few seconds of feeling dizzy :) Sydney is really beautiful.

After that, we headed to my uni so they could see my school then we took a walk down Cockle Bay Wharf and The Rocks so I could bring them get some pancakes and just hang out :)

It really was a great four days and we also did a lot of stuff in between :) I miss them already.

Day 88 - Parents Part III

Finally! Will be spending the WHOLE day with my parents. We had a pretty busy day ahead.

First up, brunch at a Gloria Jeans Cafe. My dad too so many pictures that even though I'm a self-proclaimed camera-whore, my dad was the ultimate paparazzi for this trip. I can't wait to get the photos as soon as he can send them to me.

Then I took them to Sydney Fish Market. We had lobsters, calamares, mussels, bbq octopus and barramundi fish. It was a seafood fest.

After a heavy lunch, we walked around Surry Hills. My mom being a cafe owner herself, was really in awe of the coffee culture here in Sydney. I was surprised to see only a handful of Starbucks here. Most of them are homegrown cafes that serve really good coffee. My mom who never goes a day without coffee and knows her blend well, loved every cafe we went to. Me, on the other hand, I love my coffee cold and my tea hot :) But at this cafe (can't remember the name), the caramel cake was so good!

We then had dinner at the Philippine Consul General's heritage home for dinner. She's very good friends with my mom and it was great to see her at home.

And last but not the least, after dinner and feeling very full, my parents asked me to take them to a pub for some drinks. That's one thing I love about them. They're fun to be with and can drink more than me :) They treat me and my sister fairly and they can act like our friends too. I had a vodka mojito, my mom had red wine and my dad had a schooner (glass of Australian lager). We had nachos as well :) Sydney should really have more bar food otherwise known as pulutan :)

It was a great day. I just wished Hailey and Sidelle were here too!

Day 87 - Parents Part II

Had another shift at work that I couldn't get out of. Luckily, my parents wanted to do the Hop Off Hop On so they were pretty preoccupied while I was at work.

After work, we met up for mass at St. Mary's and then had dinner at Hurricanes for some really good ribs and Sangria.

Day 86 - Parents Part I

My parents arrived yesterday! Woohoo!
I picked them up in the airport. Went on a short 4-hour work shift then spent the rest of the day with them.
Took them to Sydney Westfield and had early brunch in Snag Stand for some awesome sausages. They went to the Rocks weekend market while i was at work. We met up for dinner at Star Bar, dessert at Meet Fresh and then they rested from a long trip to Sydney from Korea.

Day 85 - Lola Way

My good friend Ana's Lola is the cutest. She celebrated her birthday and of course the Filo crew was there to make it fun.Haha!
Things I've learned :

*Boys enjoy blowing bubbles
*You can learn to play the piano but playing while people are singing along is hard to do or maybe my friend just sucked at it. JOKE! :)
*Filipino food if not eaten in moderation and after not having it for awhile can cause serious tummy rumblings.

Day 82, 83 & 84 - Catching Up

I have a lot of catching up to do. My parents were here and everything has just been so hectic.

- Beautiful mall that Amanda took me to because she wanted to show me Alana Hill, a local Aussie designer with a Patricia Field vibe. I love modern malls but The Strand has this really great structure and the architecture is just pretty :)

The Strand
- Having my first dinner out (and many more) with my two Tiffy girls. I call them "Cheese" and "Toppings" for private reasons :) They're awesome! We ate at Pancake on the Rocks :)

- Went to Manila Mart for the first time. It reminded me of home. Even freakier was my friend Cara who not only looks completely NOT Filipino, but she surprisingly is MORE Filipino than I am. I'm so glad that I met her since she's so real and just naturally fun to be with! Plus she has the largest collection of Filipino telenovels and movies that I've seen. She also knows how to cook more Filipino dishes than I am. Damn.

Day 81 - Sandwich Nazi

Had a great afternoon with my friend Saskia for a mani session, eyelash extensions and window shopping in Sydney Westfield. I've definitely missed ZARA though we have a far better collection in Manila. They have a good perfume line here though :)

Had a great lunch in Level 5 again. This sandwich was called THE KATIE made up of rare roast beef, onion rings, greens and this tangy mustard sauce.
Good stuff.

Day 80 - Beach Burrito Co.

I've been massively craving for good Mexican food. Thanks to our local foodie, he found this great place which I SERIOUSLY (shout out to Bear) loved. I love going to secret joints that has hearty food, good vibes and great company to boost.
We will definitely be back :)

Day 78 - 79 Tummy-filled Weekend

Another full day at work on Saturday at the city. My plans after work was to take a deep sleep and hibernate like Rip Van Winkle all Saturday night. But alas, spontaneous date night with Anaway :) So much fun. It involved stalking a violent korean couple with Lolo Mendel around George street, almost dying of hypothermia in an ice cream store and having a yummy Singaporean-Vietnemese "cheapo" meal :) Good fun!
*More pics in Facebook to come

BEST& BIGGEST ICE CREAM EVER. So good.

Sunday was our long-planned trip back to DFO outlet store to buy a couple of Spring outfits & to buy a blazer for work :) I did not go over budget....too much :) This is how Bea and I do it, we share a huge Chinese meal and when we're all greased up, we head to the shops :) hahaha!

Day 77 - Shag Stand & Star Bar

Wow. My post title sounds like a porn movie title. Hahaha!
It's actually the name of a yummy sausage place that I ate at for lunch! I chose the Australian Fare. It was so good! Natural sausages with lotsa toppings! So good!

It was also my good friend Moe's birthday! Seriously, him along with the other Filo crew are my family here and I don't know what I'd do without them :) Happy birthday!
