Day 232 - HIATUS

I've been in Sydney a little over 6 months now and I've loved this great journey that I'm on. I've successfully kept my blog running until now but during my last year here, I'd like to spend less time on the computer and more time enjoying life.

For the first time in my life, I'm responsible only for myself, making my own money and living my dream of doing my Masters in another country. I've been very fortunate to have supportive parents who have always pushed me to reach my potential and to thrust me into the unknown (Well, not really because Sydney is one of the best cities in the world). You know what I mean.

So now I will stop for a month or two and come back when I feel like it. This started out as a project when I was in SSI to see if I could follow through with it. I can honestly say I have :)

Right now, I will just post in twitter and facebook and pause this blog first :) It has been quite an outlet for me and it was nice to reminisce on what pictures I deemed important during a certain day.

One more year Sydney and then I'm coming home Manila :)

Day 231 - Walking Dead

Can't wait for Walking Dead Season 2. I just can't watch it in the dark or by myself or right before I sleep because it keeps me up for at least 3 hours after.

Almost scared the sh** out of me when I was walking to work. People are actually paid to do this the whole day. Great make up though :)

Day 230 - Definitely not from Hallmark

Day 229 - Make a statement

I love earrings but necklaces are a close second :)

Queen Victoria Night Market, Melbourne

Hart&Heim

Necklace from Ashley (flatmate), Dress from Bardot (Amanda)

Day 228 - Hungry for Czech

My two brothers, Adam from Czech Republic and Gun from Nepal are always game for food trippin. It totally reminds me of my friends in Manila who I miss dearly.  We promised to try out a new restaurant or cuisine once a week :)

First stop, Czech food! I've never tried Czech food but I had an impression that it would resemble German cuisine. I was expecting lots of potatoes, bread and sausages. I don't know why. Luckily I was wrong and I had one of the best meals here in Sydney.

I had the Sampler which had all their best sellers: roast pork, crispy duck and chicken schnitzel.

I can't wait to bring my sister to Tommy's!

roast pork with sauerkraut

chicken schnitzel on mashed potatoes

roast duck with cabbage

strudel with rum and raisin sauce

crepe with poppyseed

Day 227 - Third Chocolate Over load

I curse you Max Brenner. Three times in a month. Must "triple-up" my work out!

Day 226 - Sushi Club

My apartment neighbour Laura came over so we could dye our hair and have lunch together :)

We decided to do takeaway in the sushi place near our place that I've been meaning to try :)

I love salmon in sushi, as sashimi, grilled or any other way. My lunch was awesome!

Day 225 - Max Brenner Night

The perks of having a flatmate/roomie who works in Max Brenner is the awesome chocolate adventures :)

A random chocolate night after my class :

- toffee butterscotch sundae with waffle balls and vanilla ice cream

- dark and milk chocolate fondue with banana bread, marshmallows, bananas and straweberries

- tutti frutti 2-piece waffle with chocolate dips and fruits

Result : A chocolate high that will result in a downward spiral and excessive gym visits after :)

Day 224 - I dream of "Beach"-ie

The weather's been so erratic in Sydney so we've been trying to psyche ourselves that its supposed to be summer :)

Day 223 - Chocolate overload

Ashley and I decided to try the chocolate pasta that I bought in Hunter Valley last year. The directions said to serve with ice cream so I bought a huge tub.
Unfortunately, our tummies were a bit confused : "Is it pasta or chocolate?" It was definitely...WEIRD.

I don't know what to think, is it good or not? Well, I'll just make my cousin and sister decide when they visit :) hehehe!

Day 222 - I love my Tiffany girls

Laura, my german co-worker and technically neighbor AND my New York sister, Nicole :)

Day 221 - Nadal Night!

Australia Day Part II post :

After the BBQ, we headed to Darling Harbour to see the boat parade and fireworks. But truthfully, my mind was on the impending Nadal-Federer match! I love Nadal's passion and he's a great tennis player to boot! I know everyone was rooting for Federer to win but I knew Nadal was going to beat him.

I left during the boat parade to catch the start of the 2nd set and I was just in time because he did dominate from there :) I'd like to think I was his lucky star. Hahaha!

And that is why I only have 2 pictures from Darling Harbour :)

Day 220 - Australia Day BBQ

I love my futsal group. Two of them are flatmates in an awesome pad with the nicest view of Sydney Hyde Park. Plus they have a fuze table AND we always drink here whenever we WIN or LOSE :)

The food was hands down: AWESOME. I love it when people do potlucks and I get to taste amazing cooking :) Oh, and I brought my partner in crime, Ana and we made pasta as always!

Day 219 - 2nd concert of the year : FOSTER THE PEOPLE

Two weeks after watching the Kooks in concert with Maeve, my 2nd concert for 2012 was none other than Foster the People!

I only knew one song 2 days ago and coming into the concert, I knew four! Woot woot. It was an awesome crowd filled with young hipsters and cougars who loved the funky beats that this group had to offer :) I totally enjoyed myself! And after we had Persian food that made me want to throw up because I ate too much.
